Although I hate to admit it ... I actually watched Dr. Oz the other day.
Ok, not the whole show.
I stopped on it while flipping channels.
For the most part I'm not on board with all of the different weight loss stuff he promotes ... and it seems to change from one show to the next.
But this one was good ... and not a pitch to buy something!
Instead, he had a guest come on with some simple recommendations.
And the one I liked most was that she recommended you order an appetizer before dinner.
Most people think that's just adding more calories to your meal and that you're better off skipping the appetizer all together.
That's not always the case though.
There are usually plenty of healthy, low calorie appetizers and by eating a little something before your main meal comes can help you to eat a little less of it.
My two favorite (healthy) appetizers are:
1. Shrimp Cocktail
2. Veggies w/ Hummus
As long as you stick to something healthy, appetizers can actually contribute to your fat loss goals.
